How it all began...

My name is Willowa and I handmake sensory artworks. One handmade sensory product I create is called a Re'Kleimme. They are a sight and touch product assisting with anxiety, tactile sensitivity, hypersensitivity as well as memory.

How it all began...

After a visit to my auntie’s home, my auntie gave me some personal clothing of my late uncles. I wanting to make her something special to assist her during this time, so I created a keepsake bear.

Before I started creating her keepsake, I decided to create a smaller, less complicated one.

I continued creating these smaller ones, long after I finished my aunties keepsake. The creating assisted with my healing and gave a purpose and direction. I decided to call them a Re’kleimme, a play on words of 'reclaim me'.

My sensory art products are made from upcycled textiles, haberdashery and bed linen. I try to keep to a 80/20 ratio with upcycled/new.

Each piece unique and individually and has an embroidered number on their back leg, which I keep a registrar as part of a future installation art piece.

Thus far, many have been adopted and reside in Hawaii, Japan, Texas, Scotland, German,
Slovenia, Hong Kong and all throughout Australia.

Originals

These are my original range and are available in all the outlets. Created from up-cycled vintage blankets, linen and textiles. They are numerically embroidered and uniquely individual, no two are alike.

Keepsakes

This is where Re'Kleimmes originated from. Creating a larger keepsake bear from my uncles pj's for my Auntie. She has placed it on her bed and in those times when she feels low, she embraces to find comfort. I created this range to aid families though their personal grieving process. They are respectfully made, personal and individually packaged, and ready to be given to family members. They are not made alongside or during any other range of Re'kleimme as I stop and focus entirely on a families keepsake range until complete. DPMB Classic

Classic was my first range of DPMB brooches. There were the first sensory aide I created to assist my very own journey. DPMB is an abbreviation of Don't Push My Buttons. DPMB are a fidget piece which I find distracts and grounds my mind, and fashionable too.

DPMB Ceramics

The ceramic range was created to give a different textually surfaces via the glazing process. They come in different thicknesses to create weight which is sometimes beneficial to those seeking a weighted sensory aid. Finished with a suede thread, They are all handmade with love and lots of creativity.
